The Macquarie University International Scholarship covers international tuition fees for all years of study for an undergraduate or postgraduate degree. It does not provide for living expenses, Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC), airfares, accommodation, conferences or other costs associated with study. Annual renewal of the MUIS is subject to satisfactory performance in the Macquarie University degree program. Applicants must: - Be a citizen of a country other than Australia or New Zealand.
- Have met the University's academic and English requirements for the course to be considered for a scholarship (must hold a FULL OFFER by the application deadline).
- Have achieved a minimum GPA of 3.0 (out of 4.0) for Postgraduate applications and minimum requirement of 90 (out of 100) for Undergraduate applications.
Applicants must complete a course application form with certified copies of all relevant documents and application fee of A$110 (US$90). The Department of Computer Science and Computer Engineering offers scholarships to outstanding overseas students currently completing Year 12 or any equivalent school leaving certificate in any school in Australia, and commencing any undergraduate degree within the Department of Computer Science and Computer Engineering. The scholarships are valued at A$6,000 (approx. US$5,000) and the closing date for applications is usually 31 October for commencing studies the following year. In 2007, the Faculty of Education is offering eight International Accommodation Scholarships to assist international students with accommodation costs when commencing an Education, Outdoor or Environmental Education course at La Trobe University's Bendigo campus. The total value of each scholarship is A$2,900 (approx. US$2,380), paid in two equal installments. International students who are seeking a higher degree by research at a Master's or PhD level can also apply for the La Trobe University Postgraduate Research Scholarships (LTUPRS). The award amount is A$18,000 (approx. US$14,800) a year for full-time study. The closing date for these scholarships is 30 September for students who wish to begin their studies the following year. Scholarships will be offered conditional on evidence of English language proficiency. International students may apply for this scholarship when they apply for admission to La Trobe University. To be considered, you must have achieved a minimum of 80% in high school final year grades, an IELTS score of 5.5 or the equivalent, have been accepted to study at an IBT institution and be a new applicant. The University of Melbourne offers the Melbourne International Scholarship to international students accepted for their first year of study at the university. The award amount is A$5,000 (approx. Australian Development Scholarships provide opportunities for people from developing countries to undertake full time undergraduate or postgraduate study in Australia. Fields of study are targeted to address priority human resource and development needs of recipient countries, in line with Australia's bilateral aid program. Up to 1000 Australian Development Scholarships are awarded each year across 31 countries with scholarships awarded equally between men and women. There are two categories of Australian Development Scholarships: - Public sector: Applicants are public sector employees nominated by their governments.
- Open/equity: Anyone who meets the selection criteria may apply under this category. Applicants are required to return to their country of citizenship after the completion of their award to contribute to the development of the identified priority sector in their country.
Benefits include paid return travel; a one-time payment of A$5,000 (approx.
