Where should I study?

When choosing a country, consider:
  • The reputation of the country’s education sector

  • Distance from home – How often will you want to return home during your studies and what are the travel costs?

  • Cost of living and studying in general

  • Visa requirements – Can you meet the requirements for obtaining a student visa?

  • Culture and society – Are different cultures and societies attractive to you or would you prefer to study somewhere with a more familiar culture or a large Vietnamese or Asian population?

  • Friends or relatives in that country – Is proximity to family or friends a deciding factor in choosing the country?

  • What the country offers besides academic study – Do you want to travel in the country and region? Do you want to build professional or academic linkages that will be useful to you in Vietnam?

When choosing an institution, consider:

  • Academic program – Which schools have strong programs in your preferred field of study?

  • Location – What region of country do you prefer? Do you want to live in a big city or small town?

  • Cost of tuition and living – Which schools match your budget?

  • Competition and requirements for admission – Does your academic record match the admissions requirements?

  • Size of school – Do you prefer a large institution or a smaller one?

  • Accommodation options – Does the school offer the type of accommodation you prefer?

  • Number of international students
